The Rehearsal
(2008)

The Rehearsal is a fiction within a fiction within a fiction within a fiction and so on to infinity. This piece follows the metalinguistic line of work developed in The Real Fiction but it delves deeper into repetition, a tool widely used in my work, perhaps it is in this piece where it reaches its greatest relevance in my work, not only for being used as a structural tool but also as the content of the work, repetition as the essence of the theatrical and choreographic act.

A rehearsal is directed by a director when another director interrupts and directs the director directing the rehearsal. Another director interrupts and directs the director directing the director directing the rehearsal. Another director interrupts and directs the director directing the director directing the director directing the rehearsal. Another director interrupts and directs the director directing the director directing the director directing the director directing the rehearsal. Another director interrupts and directs the director directing the director directing the director directing the director directing the director directing the rehearsal. Another director interrupts and directs the director directing the director directing the director directing the director directing the director directing the director directing the rehearsal. Another director interrupts and directs the director directing  the director directing the director directing the director directing the director directing the director directing the director directing the rehearsal. Another director interrupts and directs the director directing the director directing  the director directing the director directing the director directing the director directing the director directing the director directing the rehearsal...
